HEY EVERYONE — I made a big mistake yesterday!
I included the following tweet in a postscript at the end of my newsletter. I assumed, based on its caption, that it was a picture of the current PRX training team, and I was wrong! It turns out that there is only one member of the training team in this picture:
A PRX employee let me know that the current PRX training team is comprised of:
3 (50%) employees of color;
4 (67%) women;
2 (33%) employees who identify as LGBTQIA+ ;
and that more than half of the team identify as neurodivergent.
The employee also wrote the following regarding Stephanie Kuo, the current manager of the training team:
Stephanie has single handedly changed the direction of the Training Team in a way that is seen by others in the org as an example of how things *could be* at PRX and built a functional, nontoxic team representative of true diversity (not just racial diversity). Thanks!
I’ve reached out to Stephanie to see if she would be willing to speak with me regarding her experiences at PRX and her accomplishments there. Similarly, I would welcome the chance to speak with any current PRX employees about their experiences working at the organization. If this is you, please reach out; we can begin by speaking off the record and then you can decide if you’d like to share anything in a more public way.
When I make mistakes, I will always let you know as soon as possible. My apologies to PRX, and particularly to Stephanie and the training team.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
